Illinois Facts

I know a lot about Illinois because, as a resident of Chicago, I practically live in Illinois. Let’s see—overall it’s a pretty flat state, with some lakeshore, great shopping, good snacks, plentiful restrooms and very nice people. It’s also the only state in the United States that has sent two African American Senators to Washington D.C. Not to brag on it, just saying.

Yes, Illinois has a state bird and a state flower, too. No, I have no idea what they might be. Go to the website, and enjoy our Governor’s name. He’s a pretty good Governor and it seems absolutely unlikely he will ever be indicted. Which is more than some states can say. It’s more than Illinois could say, too, until about two years ago.
